IMHA was founded on the need for a no frills association for the registration, promotion and improvement of the Miniature Horse breed in South Africa and surrounding countries. 

The Association will attempt to assist breeders in breeding by providing information and guidelines for the breeding of Miniature Horses no matter where in the world they reside.
